Summer School 2014

Summer is a great time to accelerate your child’s learning, and MPS offers summer learning opportunities that will help students prepare for a successful 2014-15 school year. Summer school runs June 16 to July 24 for grades K-8. Classes are held Monday through Thursday for six hours per day.
K-7 summer school focuses on reading and math but also includes science, social studies, physical education, music, art and more. Programming for students in grades 5-7 emphasizes science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Students will be able to take at least one STEM class about Mt. Everest, the Amazon or being stranded on an island.
Fast Track Scholars is a special option for eighth-graders. Students connect with future high school classmates, counselors and teachers while earning up to four quarter credits toward graduation.
Students in grades K-8 should enroll before May 16, as registrations received after this date will be placed on a waiting list.
MPS summer school includes transportation and breakfast and lunch for all students free of charge. For more details and eligibility criteria, visit or call our school office at 612.668.2650.
